Dinner with an Old Friend!

Tonight we were able to enjoy some time with an old friend that dates back to around our senior year in High School. Bree Boyd Etheridge. Bree was here visiting her parents in Montgomery so she, her two girls and her parents came for dinner! (Great job on the meal Lindsay!)

Bree and Robert went to China together the summer before their senior (or junior) year with the People to People Student Ambassodor program. It was a great trip with a great group of us all about the same age. Bree also went to Auburn and was an AOII sorority sister of Lindsays...

We are glad she told us they were in town so we could catch up....

An interview with Miss Lani Moore

Lindsay went out tonight with friends so I had fun with the girls...After we put Ella to bed I did a little interview with Lani. Of course it took a little longer than I thought so Lani did not get in bed at the time Mommy wanted...I hope Lani sleeps enough tonight so that today is better for you all Lindsay!

In the video, the place she likes to go with Mommy is Sonic during happy hour...It was late when I put it together. I must have edited it out!

Sunday...

Well, we did not make it to church...Since we had the family in we decided to go and eat breakfast with them out at dads camp house in Shorter...You can count on a good country breakfast with eggs, grits, bacon, and sausage. The breakfast was great and we enjoyed the time we got to spend with them...Always fun.

My other cousins were in town for the wedding as well. Caroline and Kyle, Rush and Camilla. Caroline and Kyle and Rush all live in Atlanta so we do not get to see them much and Camilla is still a student at AU. We left the breakfast in Shorter for another meal at the PUB. It was good to spend the time with them as well....Uncle Lamar (their father) left for China the next day.

So, we were able to visit alot this weekend.

We also worked hard the rest of the day. We made it to the 75% mark of completion on staining our back fence. Some of you may remember the photos of when I pressure washed it...well, now I decided in the middle of the hot summer to stain it with a chocolate colored water sealer...It is not going as fast as I had hoped for, but I do believe it is looking better than our old rotten grey look...

From there we cut the grass, reorganized the garage, installed a US Flag on our mailbox and sprayed all the weeds with round up in the front beds...Lindsay put together her new bike trailer...She is excited about this...I am trying to figure out where we are going to store it???

Thanks to the Fritz's who let us borrow their bike for a test spin...I need to remember to tell you that the screw fell off of the kick stand...I put one back in, but I have not actually told you yet!! I might need to do that!

Saturday was a fun day!

Today we had a fun day. It started at 6 am when I had to wake up to get ready for the arrival of the Handyman. I have had 2 fans for the girls bedrooms that I have needed to install for about a year and We had a non-operating attic fan over our garage that left that space extremely hot...Anyways, he arrived, installed the attic fan, the two ceiling fans, one flood light in the backyard, 2 porch lights by the back door and then took 2 motion sensors off another two lights out back. All in about 2 hours...It would have taken me all day! I am sure some of you could have done it faster, but it is a rule that I must make things harder than they are! Anyways...I feel I should put in a plug for this man...He is a retired business man that worked for Halls Brothers/Barbers milk here in Montgomery...once he retired he decided to help some people with some household projects and through word of mouth has been busy ever since doing this as a job. He was recommended by Lindsay's grandparents. So through that recommendation he came over and initially installed our front cedar post and our back french doors...Very nice fellow...you would feel very comfortable having him in your home and is reasonable especially if he comes on Saturdays without his helper...His name is Mr. Randy Nichols. If you would like his number I would be glad to pass it along...

We then went to Anna Cooks wedding! It was fun...we saw a ton of people we knew and enjoyed the time we had there...She was married at First United Methodist Church and then had her reception at the Wynlakes country club. Band was great and the food was good too...they even had a guy outside cooking miniature hamburgers in front of you...great idea (there was no line as well). Lani and Ella got to hang out with Amy Trumball who was kind enough to babysit for us that evening...Lani loves to have Amy come and babysit.

We had family come in as well to attend the wedding...Uncle Skeet and Aunt Diane and Uncle Donald and Aunt Kathy. Also in town were cousins Caroline and her husband Kyle, Rush and Camilla.

Birthday Party for Josh and Caleb!

What a great way to spend a Thursday night! Lani does not get to see the Dean boys (Josh and Caleb) very often, but she talks about them all the time! Tonight though we got to go to Auburn and celebrate their birthdays! They had their party @ Frog Legs, which is an inflatable slide jumping place...much like our Pump it up. Great Party! It is amazing to me that kids that age have no fear of climbing a huge slide and going down on their own....Ella was even going up and sliding down with us...After much fun, cupcakes, and presents we headed back down south on 85. Twice actually. I stopped for a quick bite and went the wrong way getting on the interstate...My GPS (Lindsay) was sounding a loud alarm as I went north instead of south! Lindsay is an excellent navigator if anyone needs one for a trip.

Normal week

Well, nothing to new going on this week. It's been a good one though and is already almost over. We have played and swam and have had a good time. John Hixon came over to play on Monday with Lani. They had a great time playing and I was able to get so much done around the house. Ella played with them some but she can also keep herself entertained very easy. We sent swimming at the pool Tuesday and then to our neighbors to swim that afternoon. I had a WIC (women in the church) function Tuesday night. Then of course Wacky Wednesday were we went to the Rave to see the Veggie Tale movie, The Pirates who don't do anything. I just took Lani as I knew Ella would not do so well in the movie theater. Mom and Dad kept Ella for me. We ate lunch at Chappy's with Robbie, Sam, Nettie and Gracie - of which everyone did really well! Lani really wanted to ride with Robbie but she needed to go run some errands. Robbie offered to take Lani along...4 kids, 3 of which are 3 years old! They ended up getting to go play at Gracie's house which was fun. So that left me with more free time to go to the grocery store and get some more things done around the house...is never ends does it! We had our last Wed night church study last night. Today has been another laid back day. A little trip to Target for a birthday present and lunch with Mattie and Aunt Amie (which is always fun). We get to see my sweet grandparents from Bham this afternoon at my moms and then we will be off to Auburn for a fun birthday party!
I love being a stay at home mom! It's so fun to play with the girls and go on play dates. It's definitely hard some days, but the rewards are so much greater! I continually pray for wisdom as Robert and I raise these girls and that we will train them up to love the Lord with all their heart. We are so thankful for our covenant children and the blessing and miracle they are to us!

Productive Saturday

Not only did we have a date night, Paw Paw and Mimi Moore kept the girls ALL day today! It was a productive day. I started out by practicing on my sewing (although I couldn't get my machine to work right...user error), then picked up the whole house, put clothes away, vaccumed, cleaned bathrooms, did a little scrapbooking, went to the grocery store, got dinner ready for our company tonight and cut the front yard...whew! Robert started his day off by going to Home Depot but had to call me to come get him because the Jeep would not start. Glad he had it and it wasn't me stuck during the week with the 2 girls. He later got the battery changed and it seems to be ok...thank goodness. Robert worked in the garage cleaning up, cut the back yard, started painting the fence after his pressure washing job, and edged, weed eated and blew the front yard. Thank you Paw Paw and Mimi Moore for keeping the girls so we could get so much done....we sure appreciate it and know they had so much fun!
After all that, we got ready for our friends to come over for dinner. Laura and Hank and there 3 boys got to come over to visit and have dinner tonight. We had a great time and her boys and my girls had fun playing together. It's been a good weekend so far. Tomorrow we will go to church and hopefully have a relaxing afternoon together!

Date night

Robert and I got to go out on a date again tonight. Paw Paw and Mimi Moore called and said they would keep the girls so we could go out. Paw Paw came by about 5:00 to pick up the girls and take them to Shorter to spend the night. Robert and decided to go eat at Sinclair's since we had a gift certificate...didn't we have a gift certificate last time we went out?! We love cheap dates :) Sinclair's (in Cloverdale) was the place we went on our first date. It's not so much our favorite place anymore. We went to the one on the east side of town and we were there I think 2 hrs...not by our choice. The food was ok, but everytime we asked for anything, it took 20 min for our waitress to return. Another $50 meal that I'm glad we didn't have to pay for. After we were able to get out of there, we went over to Eastchase and walked around a few stores before heading home.

Swim lessons are over

Today was Lani's last day of swim lessons for the summer. She has really enjoyed it and liked her teachers, Nicki and Kyle. They really worked with her on learning to swim on her own and how to swim and breath. It's a little hard learning to kick, do arm strokes and take breaths at the same time....but she is getting it. As you saw in Robert's video, she was learning to jump off the side of the pool and swim back to the side. I have just been so proud of what all she has accomplished over these past 2 weeks. Tonight we went to the pool to play around and that is where Robert took the video. Before Robert got there, she dove down to get the stick and torpedos about 50 times, was doing flips non stop and was swimming all around the steps. This was the first time we have been to the pool and she did not want to put her floaties on...YEAH!!! We will continue to practice and hopefully be swimming well by the end of the summer. Vegetables plants and a breakthrough in the pool!

Lani and I decided to plant some vegetable plants! I found some 15 gallon pots, some soil and a few Bonnie Plant Farm vegetable plants that have already started to grow...We are planting 3 variety of tomatoes (big boy, roma and a little cherry tomato), squash, zuchinni, and a watermelon plant.

She seems excited about watching it all grow! Hopefully we can keep them all alive! Check Back for progress on how the plants are growing...

Catching up with an old Friend!

It's Wacky Wednesday again and this week I planned for us to go downtown to the Amphitheater splash park area. This would be our first time to play down here so we were looking forward to it. It ended up, the people that were going to get to come, had to back out at the last minute...except for a good friend of mine since I have know from childhood. My friend Laura Gaston moved back to town about a month ago and we have not had a chance to see each other yet and visit. We have talked, but this was our first time to really get to visit. A little background...Laura grew up in Montgomery and we moved to Montgomery when I was 3 and my sister 5. Laura and her family were the first people we met in our neighborhood and we and our families have been friends since that time. Laura was in between me and my sister in age and we all grew up together playing...lots of fun memories. We went to different high schools, but started hanging out again when we got to Auburn. Me, my sister and Laura were all in each others weddings. She has lived down at the beach and in Birmingham, so it's fun to have her back here where we can hang out more. I'm looking forward to my girls playing with her 3 boys, James, Noah and Charlie...we love having more boy friends! We had a great time down at the splash park and the kids had so much fun running around with each other. I wish I had some pictures, but they were all over the place so I couldn't get any good ones. Laura took some of them sitting for a few seconds so I will have to get those from her. We will have to hold on to these because 20 years from now, they will hopefully still be friends just like their moms. Laura, we need to find some old pictures of us!

It has been a while...

I can remember it like it was just a few weeks ago..."I do not have time to do a blog. If you want one you will have to do all the writing!" Famous last words! Lindsay has done a great job keeping our family activities well documented. We have hopes of using the service that is on blurb.com (I believe) where you can convert your blog entries into a book. Who knows how it works and if it is good, but the idea is great. What a great way to look back on what you have done...especially for the kids to see what it was like when they were younger.

I, Robert, was in Chicago all of last week. I went there for a trade show to sell (well show) our outdoor furnishings line (we will have a new and improved website in the coming few weeks which will show our new complete line). It is a little company we started about 2 years ago by the name of Thompson and Elm. We sell outdoor furniture, and home and garden accessories. We have come a long ways, but still alot of work to do to break into this industry. Anyways, we left for Chicago early Monday morning arriving a bit past lunch. We went straight to our booth where we proceed to unwrap 15 pallets that was shoved in a 600 sq ft space. It took us the rest of that afternoon and the next day to unpack and set the space.

Unfortunately, I carried a little virus with me to Chicago. I was nauseated all day Tuesday...I knew what was coming because my nephew Cole had it on Thursday, My mother and father in law had it over the weekend and my other Nephew was lucky enough to have it next. I made it through the day because there was no choice but to set the booth. I finally had to leave Rick, one of my coworkers, to finish the booth at around 4:15. The Lord kept me well enough to make it through the day, out the large merchandise mart, down 8 city blocks, up the hotel elevator (the slowest in Chicago) and back to my room before I had to endure the rejection of everything I had eaten the past 24 hours...(that was the nicest way I knew to say I threw up!) It is amazing how you can feel better after such an experience!

On Wednesday the show started, but out of respect to my other 2 coworkers (well they told me to stay away) I had to sit around the hotel...Not much fun. During the day I was able to finish the 2nd half of a book I was reading called The Heavenly Man. Quite an eye opener to what the church, and specifically what this man in China has endured over the past many years under the Communist rule. Just to be a follower of Christ. We have it so easy, but are we using that to our advantage? Brother Yun has now left China and is working on a new initiative called Back To Jerusalem. China is training up missionaries to spread the word to all the unreached people between China and Jerusalem. Pray for them, it will not be easy.

If you knew me well you would know that I have not spent much time reading, but recently Lindsay and I have decided to eliminate TV from our week. We tivo any shows that might be worth watching for the weekend. My hope is that we will spend that time being productive. Spending time with the girls, with Lindsay or just reading somthing to grow personally. Therefore, I finished one book and it is now time to start another...Crazy Love by a pastor in California, Francis Chan. You may have seen something like this before, but go to his website and watch the video titled "the awe factor of God". Pretty amazing...How big is our God! I will let you know how the book is after I finish...

Ok, back to the trip...Later on that evening I did meet up with Deland and Rick and a customer for my glorious comeback...I proceeded to enjoyed a perfectly cooked 8 ounce Filet Mignon at the Weber grille restaurant. Probably not the best choice of food less than 24 hours later, but I was hungry to say the least.

The show turned out to be light in attendance, but we think we had some quality visits with customers that were serious about our product and concept...Here is Deland and Rick passing time as the show winds down on Friday.




Then after 6 days of Chicago we were back home where the most precious 3 women came and suprised me at the airport...what is better than seeing your 3 yr old girl run for you b/c she truly missed you and is excited to see you!

Just a plug for Chicago...We stayed downtown in a clean, but dumpy hotel...but the downtown area where we were was nice and clean...It was 80 degrees with no humidity. Every where you looked there were beautiful plantings of flowers...It sure beats market in Atlanta.

A visit to Daddy and Mattie's office

After Lani's swim lesson, we got ready and headed out to Caffco to see Daddy and Mattie and visit everyone up and down the hall. We have not been out there in awhile to visit everyone. It's always fun to go out there and let the girls play in Daddy and Mattie's office. They always find something fun to play with out there or to take home with them. Mattie gave Lani a lot of paper dolls she has been holding onto for her. That means mommy has to get to cutting so she can play with them :) After visiting, we all went out for lunch and Uncle Lamar got to come along with us. We enjoyed our time together! After a quick run by the fabric store to try and get all my stuff together for outfits to be made for the girls, we ran by Sonic so Lani could have a slush...one of her new favorite things for a treat. We love Happy Hour at Sonic!
To end our day, we went out to a meeting for Kerington residents (or lot owners as we have a lot...For Sale if interested) about annexing into the town of Pike Road. They were talking about the plans for the new school system out there. I stayed outside with the kids as they played on the play ground with Jack while Robert and Doug got all the scoop in the nice indoor air conditioning!

Slip and Sliding

We started our week off again with swim lessons and Lani is just doing great! I told them to really work with her swimming on her own. They are working with her learning to swim and take breaths so she won't just swim under water. She is loving it! Hopefully she will practice with me now...we will see! Since we were already wet from the pool we decided to get out the Slip and Slide and let the Hixons come over to play. The Hixons are our neighbors and good friends from church. Lani, Ella and the boys always have fun playing together. Ella really enjoyed the slip n slide this time after last time being slide down it by Robert. She is not so sure about water in her face, but she is getting better. I think her favorite part was drinking the water!

Daddy is Home!!

Yeah! Daddy is home from his week in Chicago! We were all excited to have daddy back home. Lani missed her daddy and Ella would call out for daddy during the week. We headed to the airport to surprise daddy, but of course, there were some delays. Since we were already heading that way when Robert called to say the plane was delayed, we took a detour and went downtown to go find where the splash park is by the amphitheater. It then began to rain on us while we were out exploring, but Lani was carrying her Hello Kitty umbrella, so no worries of her getting wet. We finally made it to the airport, after the plane was delayed almost 45 min, and surprised daddy as he got off the plane. Nothing like having your little girl run to you and give you a big hug!

The girls loved seeing their daddy and wanted to give him lots of hugs and kisses. Ella even wanted to carry his bag out for him :) They did not like that he had to drive home in a different car and not with us. But I had promised Lani we would go get ice cream after daddy got home. She has been asking to get ice cream for awhile, so this was a good day to go. And to end our already exciting day, Ashley, Beau, Cole, Judah and Zoe got to stop by for on there way to the beach and cookout with us for dinner! The kids had a lot of fun playing!

Fun Week but missed Daddy!

We sure have had a fun week and have kept busy while Daddy was in Chicago this week. We swam some more at Coleman Stanley's house yesterday with the Cantey's. It's always fun to be with our play group. Then we had a restful afternoon and night with another thunderstorm - praise the Lord! I love watching the weather report on the news (Robert jokes on me), especially Rich Thomas! How long has he been on the news and does he look any different than he looked 15 years ago? Anyway, I knew I heard him say we got almost 5 inches of rain Thurs night, but Robert and mom (both out of town) weren't sure that was possible. Well, I heard him correct and it was from his own trusty measuring device at his house out east. After last night we were totalling about 6.4 inches - that's a lot of rain!
Well, enough about rain. We are going to get ready and go eat breakfast at Chappy's and then maybe go meet daddy at the airport. Robert should be home around 12:30. He has a car out there, but I know Lani would love to go out there and see him. She loves to go to the airport. I know Robert can't wait to see his girls! He will have to update you later on his week in Chicago - exciting!

Trip to the Lake

Today was Lani's last day of swim lessons for the week. She has done Great!! They let her swim some on her own and then practiced with her breathing as she swam. Hopefully next week they will have her swimming even more on her own. She has loved it!
After the lesson, we headed up to Lake Martin to visit Megean Carter and Currin for the day. We had a great time and the kids had fun playing together. Megean videotaped Ella and Currin some and one of the clips was quit funny...wish I could get it on here. Ella was trying to ride on top of Currin (she is about 5 months older than him), then he started doing a dance and then Ella kissed him on his bottom - just had to see it :) We ate lunch, took naps and then stayed for dinner! Megean and Robb were so sweet to let us hang out so long. It rained most the day so we didn't get to go out into the water, but the kids didn't mind. As we headed home it started to pour down rain - haven't driven in that in awhile - and Ella decided to be fussy, Lani was worried she couldn't hear her music and I got a headache! But we made it home in all that rain and got the girls to bed. Lani wanted to sleep with me tonight since Robert is out of town, but it was really because of the storms. She has just decided, in the last few months, that she does not like the thunder. We have to be reminded of our bible song - "when I am afraid I will trust in you". We say a prayer to ask God to protect us and help us to trust in him. Hopefully we will get over our fear soon!

Looney's Skating

It's Wednesday so that means a Wacky Wednesday activity! Last year a friend planned a different activity each wed during the summer for the kids and fellowship for the moms. I took over to organize the activities this year. Today we went to Looney's Skating Rink. They have kid day on wed where the kids can bring 3 or 4 wheeled toys to ride around or they can skate. It's always a lot of fun. Lani wanted to skate the whole time and was doing pretty good! I didn't bring any of our riding toys so Ella went around finding others that were "vacant" to ride on.
After our fun, we brought Chappy's home for lunch and then down for naps. I helped mom get a letter together for a party she is doing and then off to church we went.

Swim Lessons and Welcome Home Mattie!!

We started our week off with Lani's swim lessons. She is taking lessons up at Sturbridge this week and next. She did great and did everything they asked without hesitation. I assumed she would do well this year. Last year, not so good! Lani loves the water, but did not want that face under water. We had a friend teach a small group and I had her try the things with Lani, but she was not liking it at all! She had gotten better during the summer last year and we had her swimming the end of the summer. But then we had to go through 9 months of no swimming. She has not been afraid of putting her face under this year, but she has not wanting to practice swimming with me. I think it's just a mommy/daughter battle. But hopefully after these lessons, she will be ready to go!
Mattie is home from China!!! Yeah! We missed Mattie and are so glad she is home. We got to go see her today during lunch and she brought the girls home some fun girly things! Lani has enjoyed her scratch and draw princess book! Thank you Mattie and glad you are home!

Dressing Up!! and Ella's favorite hiding place

I just wanted to post a few pictures of the girls from last week playing dress up. I'm sure this will be more and more often as Ella gets a little bigger. Ella also likes shoes...alot! She will ask for her shoes before I even get her out of her bed. And she likes to put on everyone elses shoes as well.

And here is Ella hiding in her favorite place. One day I had no idea where she had gone to and she popped out of the cabinet! She climbs in and then closes the cabinet behind her. I love her little hand in the last picture!

A day at the park with Cousins!

My sister and her 3 kids have been down visiting the last several days. Ashley has 2 boys and 1 girl: Cole is almost 7, Judah is 2.5 and Zoe is 5 months. We decided to go to the park today and then to Grace Episcopal Church for a little picnic. We had a lot of fun, although it got a little hot towards the end. There was a small zip line at the church that didn't work real well so I had to pull the rope back and forth with the kids, but they had a good time. We went walking through the gardens and the kids found some tad poles in one of the small ponds. Ashley helped get one out for each of the kids. We will keep you updated and let you know if the little guy becomes a frog!

Our Fun on the Fourth!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth of July! Thank you Lord for our Independence and our being able to worship you freely!
We started our day off getting ready for our neighborhood 4th of July parade. Since I didn't make it to Hobby Lobby the day before to get our decorations, I quickly drove over there a little after 9 to see what I could find and hurried home to decorate the gator just in time to start the parade at 10! (next year I will be prepared) This was the first year we were able to be apart of the parade. Lani and Judah (my sisters 2 yr old) rode in the gator while Ella was pushed in her buggie car (with very little decorations). The parade goes down the main street, with people sitting along the side to wave and enjoy, and ends at the clubhouse with popsicles. The kids had a great time, but wow was it HOT!!!
From the parade, I went to help mom make desserts for our annual July 4th gathering. I love to bake and it's always fun to get everything together. After the kids had naps, we went back to my parents for a quick dinner and then lots of desserts and fun. Friends gathered for a fun night of fellowship. The blow up water slide was up again and the kids of course had a blast. Then we walked across the street to the 7th hole tee box for our perfect seats to enjoy the fireworks. Lani of course loves the fireworks and always has, but I wasn't sure what Ella would do. She LOVED them too! She would clap for them and would say "ooh or boom". There was not one child there that got scared. Then back to moms we went for more desserts and of course the fun sparklers. Yes, we had 2 and 3 year olds playing with sparklers. I know, a little scary, but we had good supervision.
It was a full day and Ella crashed in her bed at 9:30 and Lani got to spend the night with her cousins at Mimi and Grandpa's! We always enjoy the Fourth of July!

Just a few things to share from today...

First of all Lani has something she would like to share with everyone...



Tonight was Wednesday night church. Also, Ashley came down with the boys and Zoe so we look forward to visiting with them till Saturday. I believe Beau is on the road to Michigan so we will miss him for the 4th.

I love a beautiful sky...so you will probably see more pictures of them...Outside of speaking about Lindsay, if I use the words love and beautiful in the same sentence it will probably be about Gods Creation. (In that case they are Manly Words) Don't get me started about the feminization of America!

Budget Saver Tip: For those of you who are on a budget like we are...here is a schedule that helps keep the wallet full if you need to eat out...Monday nights kids eat free at Moe's, Tuesday is kids night at Eastchase Chick-Fil-A (No real savings, just things for the kids to do),Wednesday is Jalapeno's Buy one combo get one free, and at chappy's kids eat free anytime but, for this schedule it is a good Thursday night option (do not forget the free ice cream)...Friday night is always open for something a bit nicer or the old chappy's stand by.

If you have already read this post, you will know that I had to extract a paragraph...For the record, Lindsay is a great cook and loves to prepare meals for our family on a daily basis! Sometimes....You can tell that it has been one of those days, so we have the above options to fall back on!

VBS Recap - Building the Wall

Ok, this is my first time to blog. I'm not particulary fond of writing, but Robert is getting me into this blog thing. He has been wanting to have a blog for awhile now, but I was not interested. But, I am seeing how this might be fun! So, here goes my VBS recap.
I love VBS! I have always loved being involved with VBS and look forward to it each summer. This year, we had a completely new format and curriculm thanks to the hard work of Rebekah Pittman. It was so much fun to be apart of this group and see God bring everything together for a wonderful week for your children. VBS was on Nehemiah - I know most of us didn't know much if anything about Nehemiah, I know I sure didn't. The theme was construction and building the wall around Jerusalem. There were different rooms the kids went to and in the story teller room, they decorated it like a little girls room. They used Lani's comforter, tent (Given to her by her wonderful Mattie) and floor pillows. She loved that! Me and my friend, Camille, were in charge of the crafts. We made tool boxes, sling shots, construction hats, shields - the kids loved it! The last day, the big kids got to do a rock climbing wall and the little kids did the Big Green Bus.


This was Lani's second year of VBS. She was in the 4 year old room since she is close to being four. But what was so funny is that she told one of her teachers every time they moved from one room to another, "I'm suppose to be with the 4 year olds. Mommy said to make sure I am with the 4 year olds." I think I had told her the first day, because I had taken her to an early room to get things ready, to let them know she went in the 4 year old class because I knew if she just told them she was 3 she would be put in the wrong class. So obviously she was determined to make sure she stayed in the right class! She had a great time though and did not want it to end. She was sad to know she had to wait till next summer to do VBS again. When I asked her the beginning of the week what her favorite thing was, twice she told me the object lesson room which is where they learned more about Nehemiah and other Bible Builders. I was expecting her to say crafts or recreation. Now I will say the end of the week she told me she loved the Big Green Bus! So overall, VBS was a great week and Lani and I both had an wonderful time! (Of course, Ella got lots of attention from Julie Trumbull all week in the nursery:)
