The Jeep is SOLD!
Praise the Lord, we have sold our Jeep! We took our Jeep out to Maxwell Airforce Base onto their lemon lot 2 weeks ago. We have been intending to do this since August when we bought the van. Of course we have to have my grandparents with us to take it out there and then come with us if anyone wants to look at it. But we finally got around to taking it out 2 weeks ago today. The first weekend we had 2 ladies that were both very interested and acted like they really wanted to buy the Jeep. One of the ladies even gave us an offer on Sunday and then backed out Tuesday. But Saturday we had another call and Robert met the man on Sunday. He made an offer and has just left our house with the Jeep! Yeah!! That is the second time we have sold a car on Base and both times they have sold very fast. We even had 2 more calls on it after this guy made an offer. Can't beat that! Glad to have that done and out of the way and back down to 2 cars! It was a good car, but I sure like my VAN!!

Changing sheets...
Ok, I think I posted a while back about Ella taking her diaper off and having a mess in her bed. Thankfully, that has not happened again, but I'm waiting for the day. Last week while napping at mom's she took her pants off and then her diaper and of course tinkled in the bed. That was the first time she has taken her pants off. I know better now than to put her to bed with nothing over the diaper. So this morning when I go to get her up, she is holding up her diaper. Oh Ella! As I'm grabbing the diaper from her and planning to get another, I realize the diaper she gave me is completely dry! She must have taken it off before she ever fell asleep. Her bed was soaking wet along with her blankie. I took the sheet and mattress cover off and washed them and made the bed back up after church. Before nap we talked about it and said we will not take off our pants or diaper - 'yes mam, no diaper off'. What happens when I go in after nap - pants off again as well as diaper and we have tinkled again! Another changing of the sheets! We have checked her tonight and she is asleep with pants on so we will see what happens in the morning.
I have been working on potty training her so I guess she just thinks she will take it off and go. She is doing good going in the potty, but we are not consistent with it yet. I usually put her on when I am changing a diaper and before bed. I might need to try pull ups and see what she does with those. What fun times!

Kindergarten preparation
Wow...it's time to get ready for Lani to go to Kindergarten! Where has the time gone!! We had Open House at Eastwood Christian School a couple weeks ago which was exciting. We had originally signed her up for Eastwood (which is where we go to church) and Trinity (where Robert and I both graduated from) several years back. Robert and I have been torn between the two and like both schools for different reasons. But late last year we decided Eastwood is where we are planning to send her. So tomorrow we will turn in our application and sign up for testing and interviews which will take place the first and second week of Feb. Oh my, it makes me a little nervous! Someone told me there were 60 people on the waiting list and they only have room for 24. I'm glad we are members of Eastwood b/c it gives us a little priority. I am excited though! It's such a wonderful school and everyone says K is just the sweetest thing there. I know Lani will love it! We will pray she gets accepted, or I might have to homeschool (I don't think that would ever work)!!
Busy week to slow week
Well, after a busy week last week, this was quite the opposite! It's nice to slow down, but by the end of the week, I was needing something to do. I am not a stay at home all the time person. Most of what we have done this week is go out to eat with people! Monday we ate breakfast with Mimi and Grandpa at Chappy's, we ate lunch and played mostly at McDonald's with Robbie, Nettie, Sam and Jack. Wednesday we ate lunch with my grandparents at Chickfila and Friday we ate lunch with Mattie! So those were our outings for the week. Lani didn't go to school at all this week (M - holiday, W-stomach issues, F-maybe conjunctivitis). She was very sad!
Lani and I worked on making her Valentine's for school. I thought I would get a head start and know that it was done. We had fun and worked on them off and on for 3 days! She enjoyed it though!
Friday night we went to eat over at the Duggar's and had a great time! The kids all had fun playing together and we enjoyed visiting. We started talking about Disneyworld b/c they are leaving next Friday and we have been talking about taking Lani this year. So LeeAnn and I go upstairs to research on the computer about us trying to go next weekend also. Usually I am the one who wouldn't want to do something last minute, but I thought it would be so much fun. Robert on the other hand would say 'let's go', but he has been a little more hesitant. So, we shall see!

Another busy week
How does life get so busy?! We are definitely back in the swing of things and have gone non-stop this week. Lani of course had school M,W,F. Besides that, we have not been home hardly except for naps.
Monday - took Jeep to lemon lot on base to sell, tried to work with bad computer, Terminex came for inspection, man came to check out dryer (it's ok and working normal now), went to Bible Study
Tuesday - went to office to get computer fixed (thankfully the office decided to give me another one they had - old one still not fixed), got oil changed, went to cleaners, grocery store run, fixed dinner for neighbor who had baby in Dec, back to office to get computer, oven didn't shut off like I thought I set it to so food over cooked and had to put another dish in to cook, took dinner to neighbor and back home to eat with my family.
Wednesday - I met with Mrs. Cobb (Lani's teacher) after school to see how she was doing. Don't you always wonder what they are like in school setting and away from home. Thankfully she is doing great, very obedient, loves to play with the boys (no surprise), very caring towards the other kids, sits in her chair (it's amazing how they can sit still for others but not for momma) and Mrs. Cobb said she should be ready for Kindergarten. Lani spent the night with her great-grandparents and we went to church.
Thursday - We got the tires rotated on the van, picked up presc. at CVS, went to Open House at Eastwood Christian School, got Sophia (friends child) to play for the afternoon, went to a b'day party at Burger King and girls to bed early!
Friday - Thankfully had 2 people call about Jeep and went back out to Lemon Lot to test drive. Only 1 could end up coming, but 2nd wants to drive on Sunday. Both say they are very intrested and want Jeep, so we will see! Wouldn't that be nice to sell it within a week of being on base! Girls took nap at moms while I went out ther and they slept almost 3 hrs each - they are tired! Off to Carraba's tonight for dinner with Robert's dad and his wife for her birthday!
Next week looks slow so I'm looking forward to that!

Robert took the girls out this morning
Robert was going to take the girls out for breakfast this morning to hang out with them and he decided he would go run some errands with them so I could have more time to get things done around here. It's been productive, but I have worked on something all day. I finished Christmas thank you notes, balanced the checkbook (which has been awhile), filed taxes for Artisans, washed some clothes and worked on consignement clothes. I still have some things on the list to get done, but it was a good start!
Robert and the girls had fun eating b'fast at Old MacDonalds (as Lani has always called it) and then off to Costco, Dick's sporting goods, Circuit City, the shoe store and stopped by GG and Grandy's to take them their Sunday School rollbook we make for them each year. I think they had a lot of fun!!

New Electronics
It's always fun to get new things, and Robert always loves some electronics. But don't we expect them all to work when we get them! To start, I got a new work computer about 3 months ago. I was so excited b/c my other one was running so slow! The new one seemed to be working well and then I noticed it just getting slower and slower - couldn't even open an excel or word document in under 30 sec to a minute. So I decided to call our help line on Tuesday to see if they could find any problems. So he does some disk scan and tells me I can reboot my computer and it will finish running and hopefully be better. Ok, after 4 hrs of waiting for my computer to reboot, I call back in and then come to the conclusion that my computer is now really messed up. So now after 3 days, talking to about 5 different people, we've come to the conclusion I need a new hard drive - after 3 months!!! Frustrating!
Robert bought a new Mac on New Year's day which he has been wanting to buy for over a year. He has been very patient waiting to get it, even after his plan to get it in New York. After getting it home, he tries to use it and discovers the screen does not work. Thankfully, they were very nice and told him to bring it back and they would give him another computer! We like that! He hasn't tried this one yet, but hopefully it will be just fine.
Now for the 3rd one - we had to get a new washer and dryer b/c the old ones were ruining our clothes and making spots on all of them. So we got new front loaders, but Robert noticed they were both scratched. We are getting 2 new front covers for them which is great. So Robert gets them all hooked up and I decided to put some jeans in the dryer to "shrink" them. Within one minute, the dryer is smelling and smoke is coming out. Robert has called to get it checked on Monday. They said this could be normal (really??) so we will see! It's been an interesting week with all these electronics! I'm praying next week will be better as I am having to go to the office to do some work since computer is not doing so well (not easy with 2 little girls) and then drying clothes over at my parents in shifts!

Trying to get back on schedule
We began the week with a little more play but have then tried to get back on our normal schedule as school has started back. Monday we got to go the Lake with the Fuhrmans to visit the Carters. Beth and I left around lunch with the kids and the guys came up after work. We had so much fun playing and visiting for the day. We put the 3 younger kids down for naps and we outside to let Lani and Jack play. Since the water is down, there is tons of sand to play in. Thankfully the kids had their rain boots on as they played. Lani ended up getting stuck in some muddy sand (like quick sand). Of course we had to take some pictures first (we have some of her at Robbie's like this when she was about 18 months) and then told her to try and pull herself out. She couldn't get out so well and one boot was left stuck in the muddy sand. Jack went over to check it all out at the same time and got stuck and fell forward - Beth and I are laughing so hard at them at this point - and as he pulled himself up he fell straight backwards. Jack was covered in mud and it was hilarious! He did help get Lani's other boot out and then they decided they needed to go get in the water to rinse off :) After a little play, Robb got there and played with them as they threw rocks and skipped rocks in the water and then he took them for a long canoe ride! Thanks Robb, I know they had a blast!!
After a fun afternoon of playing and getting dirty from head to toe, they cleaned off in Robb and Megean's BIG shower, which was fun in itself. We then got dinner ready, Robert and Doug made it and we had a great time visiting, eating and watching all the kids run around and play. It was a great day and everyone had so much fun! We can't wait for Robb, Megean and Currin to be back in Montgomery!
We played a little with the Hixon boys on Tuesday and then Robbie and Nettie came over to play and eat lunch. Lani and Ella had fun and enjoyed watching the Rockette's video for about the 3rd time. By the end of the day it was time to get ready for bed and school the next day.
Wednesday was back to our normal schedule and Lani headed off to school. Ella and I had some errands to run before we picked her up, then made our weekly grocery trip and home for naps.
I definitely enjoyed Christmas holidays and relaxing with no specific schedule, but I work so much better on a schedule. It's good to have those breaks every once in awhile though.

Fun Saturday with no specific plans
Finally, we had a Saturday at home with nothing pressing to do! That's the best thing about January. It's usually slower and we don't have as many plans. Friday night my parents kept the girls so we could get all our Christmas decorations taken down and put back in the attic. We ended up going out to eat first at Bonefish since we had a gift card! Yummy! Then we grabed a coffee from Starbucks and home to start working. I always like having everything out for Christmas, but it sure is nice to get it all cleaned up. So with a nice clean house, it made Saturday an enjoyable day. We picked up the girls and went to get Mattie to go to b'fast. We were a little later than we planned, but again, no hurry. We enjoyed our b'fast with Mattie and playing at her house for a little bit.
After we got home, Robert went to SH&G to try and find some boxes store things from the garage and the girls and I headed over to my grandparents to get something from them. It was now lunch time, but the girls always want to eat something when we go to my grandparents. My grandmother had just baked a ham and it did smell yummy, so we ate a little while we were there. We did have a little accident while we were there. The girls like to sit up in the swivel chairs at the kitchen counter to eat. They no longer put Ella in a seat up there but just let her sit. I am always keeping an eye on her when I am there. Thankfully I wasn't standing to far away when she swiveled the seat around and fell out head first to the tile floor. It was slow motion of course and I think her foot got stuck with slowed her fall and I grabbed her right as her head touched the floor. Thankfully it was not a really hard fall! A little scary! She cried for a bit and then was ok and ready to get back up and eat. I'm thinking the chair needs to go back in the seat. After our visit we made a quick stop at the grocery store and headed home for naps. Robert was still not home and had decided to make the rounds and go to all the stores to see what deals they had going on! Most guys don't like going to the stores, but Robert sure does. I don't even know how many stores he went to yesterday. He did get home in time for me to take the van to get cleaned. I have been trying to do that for about 2 weeks now. I can't stand for it to be dirty! After getting home, I cooked dinner while Lani and Robert played a game. I had just cut off some brocooli and handed the stalk to Ella to throw away, but instead she decided she would just eat it. It was hilarious, she ate and ate off that stalk the whole time I cooked dinner! Robert finished the day by cleaning out the garage and getting things put back in the attic. Oh so nice to have the garage back and my van pulled inside! It was a fun day that really was productive yet also relaxing!
