Thank you mom!

Mom, for father's day, sent me a box of cookies from a company called Dancing Deer Baking Company.

Great idea and fun presentation, but the cookies were a little dry.  The brownies were good, especially after heated!  Unfortunately, I was gone on delivery day so they sat on the door step all weekend while we were in the mountains before we could eat them!

Mom is in China right now, working hard, and I am sure looking forward to coming home as fast as possible!  Mom, you are doing a great job!  We love you!

Get on skype if you can so the girls can talk with you!

Grace Campus Ministries

So this is a post of an email of a post by a friend that I sent out earlier today...does that make sense? If not thats ok...Follow Matts move to Hong Kong and ministry happenings @ http://blog.gracecampus.net and/or http://mattdean.blogspot.com and read below...

My email: (maybe read his post below first...)
Some of you know what Matt Dean is doing, some may not. That is why I forwarded his blog entry. Just wanted to share, so here you go!

Encouraging! As he stated...Before they even arrive!

Maik was not a person we were really planning on meeting last October, but he has proved to be a blessing! Now on staff he has been networking, working on housing & more...He has been in HK for years already, knows the lay of the land, & from Germany ended up in HK not on his own desires, with a heart for university students...He was placed there b/c God had gone before Grace Campus...
Pray for them! I am sure they are excited mostly, but nervous, and doubtful all at the same time. 9 people & Matts family (who is there till God redirects them) have committed to move to HK for the next 2 years! One couple married around 6 months ago!

Excited to see how things unfold as they land on August 3rd!

Matt, Great job directing this move! We thank you and April for your faithfulness.

This morning, I received a very encouraging phone call from our team member Maik, who is already working in HK. More details will be posted at the grace campus blog soon, but for now what I can say, is that we are humbled to know we have a network in place in HK. Faculty representing universities in HK attended a dinner hosted by GCM|HK and another partner organization. The event was held aboard the OM ship Doulos, which is currently at port in HK. Simply put, we are connecting with like-minded professors who will help us serve the students in Hong Kong. After last night's event, we have relationships in place on all 8 university campus locations throughout HK. This is huge... to know some of our fist steps are clearly before us is compelling; reminding us once again, that God has already gone before us, for our joy and His namesake. (Ephesians 2:10).

Father's Day Weekend!

Great weekend...We went with the Allens  to their mountain house in Blue Ridge, GA.  It is an easy drive...about 3.5 hours from Montgomery if you do not encounter any traffic in Atlanta or if you do not have to stop!  The house had caught on fire last October so this was the first time we had been back in over 7 months!

Lindsays parents (mimi and grandpa), grandparents (GG and Grandy) went with us and Beau and Ashley along with their kids, Cole, Judah and Zoe were there.

Great time to play the Wii,  grill out,  watch a few movies, relax...we even went tubing.

I hope we will use the Mountain house more this year, but without all of the following:
man with a swastika tattoo with something german written underneath (bit scary), a black widow spider, and a scorpion.

Tons of wild blackberries growing around the house, but unfortunately they were not ready to be picked...Sorry Lindsay!

No trip to Blue Ridge with the kids is complete without a trip to Huck's General Store!  The store is great!  Has a great selection of old and new candies, Great cold bottle drink selection, and other fun toys from the past.  They even opened up a small indoor putt putt course for kids downstairs and a gem mining thing (will have to be a separate post) for kids to look for "gems" by using a sifting box and running water to...Check out the pictures below!
